Orphanage in Kenya, Africa
New Life MCC, Gastonia, NC has been supporting an orphanage in Kenya, Africa for about 7 years. It is under the direction of Pastor Dismas Omare ([email protected]).
He has approximately 16 orphans (the number changes as more are found that are in need of care). They are orphans from either both parents dying from AIDS or both dying from their civil war.
Two individual contacts (one in a pastor in Kenya and one a pastor in Tennessee whose church supported Pastor Omare’s orphanage for a number of years) verified the legitimacy of the orphanage.
Kenya has a mandate that all children must be in school or the place that houses them (home or orphanage) will be fined. The children’s supporters must pay a fee for each child to enroll in school and a purchase a uniform for each child. This is very hard for a poor orphanage with 8 children.
New Life MCC supports the orphanage monthly with financial support (through Western Union) to provide funds to buy food for the orphans. Since New Life MCC is a small church and since we are not meeting due to the Covid pandemic, we cannot take up special offerings when the need arises to supply the school needs of the 8 orphan children.
If your church, or you personally, could help support them, even for $25/month, it would be a tremendous help. American dollars go a long way in Kenya.
You can contact Pastor Omare directly at his email. If you have any questions, leave a message here and I would be happy to answer them.
Thank you and God bless you for any help you can give.
